In 2018, Hong had a dream to bring the tastes of Asia to the heart of Brussels. He started Hao Hao, an Asian food store that would offer a wide range of products from Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, China, India and beyond.
From the beginning, Hong worked tirelessly to source the best quality products, including dry goods, noodles, rice, frozen products, sauces, oils, vinegar, drinks, alcohol, and even cooking tools. He also offered fresh products, such as vegetables and fruits, to ensure that his customers had everything they needed to create authentic Asian dishes at home.
As the store grew, Hong became a familiar face in the town of Etterbeek, where Hao Hao is based. Located at Avenue de la Chasse 182, 1040 Brussels, the store has become a destination for food lovers looking for authentic Asian ingredients.
While Hao Hao’s website lists all the products available in-store, customers cannot buy online. Instead, Hong believes in building personal connections with his customers and helping them find exactly what they need to create the dishes they love.
